Kitchen Stories
« on: January 07, 2007, 08:20:47 AM »

Since last November we had several power outages due to
bad weather.
One day,my banana bread had just been baking in the oven
for 15 minutes when the power went out again.

I never did it before, but thought maybe I could save my banana bread
by baking it on the BBQ.

When the BBQ was hot I couldn't get the banana bread out of the oven.
The oven door locks automatically when the power goes out !
What to do?There must be a way to open the door manually.
It took me a while to figure out how to do it.
I finally remembered that the stove had a lift up cooktop.
With the cooktop up I used needle nose pliers to
twist the locking device open.

The banana bread finished baking on the BBQ on top
of an odd shaped metal pipe.
( I needed something between the grill surface and the baking pan )

My banana bread tasted very good,
just a bit burned on the bottom !   Wink

    Very intrepid!   Cool

But then, a person will (and should) do a lot to get some fresh banana bread. Wink
