Swiss Rice

Swiss Rice

1 - 2  tablespoons veg.oil (Canola)   
1       small onion,fine - diced
2       cups long grain rice (Delta brand)
1/4    teaspoon curry powder
1       teaspoon salt
3 1/2 cups water
1/2    cup dry white wine
1       Knorr Beef Bouillon cube
         small dish of fine - grated Swiss Cheese (optional)

In large saucepan heat the oil on medium heat,add onions,
cook,stirring until transparent.
Add rice,curry,salt and stir 1 - 2 minutes.
Add the water,wine and bouillon cube.
Turn up heat,bring to boil,stirring a few times.
Turn heat to low,cover and simmer for
20 - 22 minutes.Lift lid,carefully stir rice and serve.

Note:
Sprinkle some Swiss cheese over rice portions,
if served with meat and gravy.
Leftover rice freezes well for a short time.
