Bangers-n-mash my way :)
« on: October 24, 2006, 02:11:56 PM »

8 large potatoes, peeled
1 onion, diced
1/2 lb pork sausage
2 lbs bratwurst
1/4 cup flour
1 1/4 cups milk
2 tblsps butter or margarine

Boil the potatoes 'till fork-soft.

Meanwhile, fry the sausage and onion together to make gravy.  Add the flour and and 1 cup of the  milk, and cook, stirring constantly, 'till it's hot, thick and bubbly.  Set it aside

Mash up the potatoes, and add remaining milk and margarine.

Heat the bratwurst in the microwave about 2 mins -just 'till hot, and while it's cooking, preheat the oven to 350F.

Pour half of the gravy into a large casserole dish.  Put in the bratwurst, then top with the rest of the gravy.  Layer the mashed potatoes on top.  Bake uncovered for about 20 minutes.

Serve with baking powder biscuits. Smiley
