Title: I made a top! Post by: mamafitz on April 24, 2006, 06:59:02 AM This is the first garment I've made this
year! I've sewn a bunch, but it's been all bags and
quilts. tada!: (http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b319/mamafitz/2643.jpg) it's an OOP Kwik Sew pattern (2643). I'm not wild about it, and I think I'll give it away. David looked at it and, well, he just stood there. He was trying to think of something nice to say. :) not that he thought it was ugly, it's just not me. I think it's a bit too big now too (I cut it out last summer). Still, I sewed a garment! Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: Gigi Louis on April 24, 2006, 07:47:21 AM Linda, this is my favorite basic tee
pattern! I think it's just too large on you - you've lost some
weight recently, yes? I'd give it another go. Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: mamafitz on April 24, 2006, 10:19:14 AM over 15# lost. yep, i did lose weight
and my boobs shrunk (i wonder what will happen when connor weans.
they'll disappear!). i've been at goal for almost a year. this
stuff is really stretchy too, which doesn't help. i will trace the XS off and i might not even do a FBA! ( can you imagine!!! ) Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: quidscribis on April 24, 2006, 08:35:54 PM I have to admit I like it, but then, I've
always preferred loose (you know, hide the big boobs syndrome). But
I can also see what you mean about how it would look better a little
tighter. I like the fabric, too. :) Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: Marianne on April 24, 2006, 09:02:41 PM Congrats on completing a garment. If you had
to pick, isn't it better too big than too small? Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: LindaL on April 25, 2006, 03:51:20 AM I love the fabric and colors. Maybe you
could take it up some; I think it is just a little big and I agree with
Marianne, it is better I think to be too big than too small. You can
usually do something with too big! Congrats on weight loss. When I reach the 15 lb. loss, I will announce for the whole world to hear! Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: Liana on April 25, 2006, 05:42:27 PM Linda, Very cute top, really! It's a little big, but it also looks as though you meant it that way, especially with the extra-long sleeves, which I like. It might be nice this summer when you want something with a little air moving around. 8) I can't stand to wear knits in the summer unless they're kind of loose. They just don't breathe otherwise, even if they're cotton. Anyway, it looks cute on you. :) Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: cmarie12 on April 26, 2006, 05:36:58 PM Mamfitz, As I said on your blog ~ I like the top on you. I guess I like things a little loose also and it can always be altered if you want a closer fit. But hey, at least you made something for yourself and you know where you want to go from here to make the next one! Title: Re: I made a top! Post by: fzxdoc on April 30, 2006, 04:38:41 PM Linda, I love the color and I think it looks
just fine on you. You're going to love those colors as Spring
progresses and you want some "happy colors" to wear! Stitcher's
