Wow, Lisanne!  Thank you so much!  I always get stuck at the 3000 different stabilizers.

Thanks Pina for the links you shared!  I have not been visiting SG much since the format has changed so much. It is nice to see your name appear again.

Hi to all of you who are keeping this site going.

:wave3:  Happy 4th of July to all my sewing/embroidery brothers and sisters !  :heart_smilie:

Peace Arch -The inscription on the US side reads - Children of a common mother and on the Canadian side - Brethren dwelling together in unity.

Lisanne, the day I bought my embroidery machine I had a half hour hooping and stabilizer lesson,(one hour a few days later how "save as" embroidery designs online etc.). Embroidery Library's tutorials are very good.

Lisanne, good tips on embroidery.  And I agree - with your process.

Martha, Sometimes you just have to 'play'; stitch out some designs as practice and get comfortable with basic stabilizers and how your machine works.

Thanks, Paula.  Iím sure I will become more comfortable with practice.  I was going to say Ďwith timeí but then I realized that was totally incorrect.  Years go by between my forays into embroidery and I feel like Iím always reinventing the wheel.  I have an undemanding project in mind, which is luring me back in again.

You're lucky Pina.  Here the sewing machine dealers within 30 miles can get an embroidery machine on special order but have no-one who knows how to use one.
I'm talking about the on-line classes, DVDs and books I've tried.

Lisanne, the dealer I like to visit,(only 16 km away),has been in business 75 years. It will be a sad day when the friendly and very kind couple,(the original owner's grandson and his wife),retire.  They adopted my embroidery machine's warranty, after the out of town dealer lost the dealership,(another story I shared before  :grinning: ).

The Accidental Embroiderer - Mia  ............."A really big freebie. Right Ė itís time for a freebie, and after some thought, and encouragement from blog reader Ramona, Iíve decided to give away the big Jacobean bellpull that I posted some time ago. Now, this is a BIG project, made up of 6 different individual designs, so Iíll need to spread it out over several months, posting one design a month.

Please note that these are very large designs: not in the sense of size (theyíre all for the 5x7 hoop) but they all have a lot of stitches Ė somewhere between 40,000 and 50,000 stitches for each part.  There are three ways you can use these designs................"

Oh gosh, what a gorgeous bell pull, Pina.

I'm trying to find a place for it. It would be such fun to make.
