I've been aware of SWAP for a couple of years, but never participated. After reading these rules I think I can match my wardrobe needs with the SWAP. And my make nine was all about techniques this year as well!

So hello  :wave3: I'm a bit late to the party but I'm going to see what I can get done :)

My inspiration is my holiday to Santorini in 2018 and Art Gallery fabric Skolepos (which was also inspired by Greece - although a different island)

Once I've worked out how to post pics I'll post some holiday spam...I mean, inspiration pics. :)

I have worked out 6 pieces of the SWAP here on my blog

So just 3 more pieces to work out plus identify the 2 already made that fit into this. I'll post a summary once I know what it is! Until then I have enough to crack on with.

So not a 100% but 200% successful attempt to post the Art Gallery fabric that is part of my inspiration. And hopefully some holiday inspiration pics below!

So the current plan is to sew:

-- 3 long sleeved tees (all done this week!)
-- 2 jackets (1 cut out, still need fabric for the other)
-- 1 skirt (cut out)
-- 1 dress (not started)
-- 1 joggers (not started)

With my 2 prior garments likely to be 1 dress(already made from the inspo fabric) and 1 pair of trousers (may be RTW)

This leaves 1 item to be decided still.

I have completed the 3 tees, and already covered off the new to me technique, doing my first FBA. Blog post up today with some pics.

It feels like an achievement to have 3 items completed even though they are super easy t-shirts.

Finishing this SWAP was always going to be a challenge, given how late I joined in. But now I have realised that 2 and a half weeks in April are school holidays! This puts a bit of a spanner in the works. I will see how much I get done but it isn't looking promising.

I've also being mulling over my final piece. What my wardrobe really need is a handbag. Its not really a garment but it would be sewn from multiple pattern pieces so maybe it fits the rules...?

I have been busy! Nothing helps my anxiety more than being productive and keeping my hands busy. So as it stands for my SWAP:

3 x long sleeve tees sewn
1 x denim skirt sewn
1 x denim jacket sewn
1 x velvet joggers sewn

That leaves 1 x jacket, 1 x dress and 1 x mystery item to go.

Well after my last post my sewjo completely fled. I have 1 half done dress and I haven't started on either of the others. Its nice to see I was not alone in this lack of completion.

I have just dug out my sewing machine and sewed 2 masks (how very 2020) and so now I am hoping to complete the rest of the SWAP. The pieces I have done are great and currently form the back bone of my wardrobe. I am sold on this idea of sewing in collections now.

Hopefully everyone is well, and I'll be reading through the threads to see what everyone else did later :)
