Linda - re the flannel 'go to' top.  I would add an extra inch or 2 so it would be longer.  The fleece and flannel will need more 'weight' then a linen etc.  JMHO

Good morning everyone  ;) Did you see that her new pattern is out  :crush:  And the sample garments in coordinating fabrics are to die for!     AND, ALL patterns ARE on sale, not just the new one.

I really like the vest.  Hesitated because I have another pattern similar (another Indy) and that pattern is already fit. Hesitated but only a momentó- my order is placed!

I'm planning on picking up this pattern at the Puyallup show in a couple of weeks. And maybe choosing some appropriate fabric in the meantime.

I moved to Oregon and a happy side effect is that I'm closer to this show. Although the Sew Expo in Minneapolis, which used to be "my" show, is also excellent.

I'm taking a list of currently owned Cutting Line patterns with me, so I don't double up. Will also take yardage requirements for some other patterns, as I know that Louise's fabric choices will be SO tempting!

WHAT??? Why in the world would "we" (SG) want to restrict vendor's comments to a separate area? I'm not asking you personally, Louise ;-)

But really. This is too silly for words. Louise, and the occasional other vendor, has enhanced our discussion of the patterns, offered invaluable assistance, and generally cheered us on.

Off I go to the site suggestion area.....

I created the vendor area as a place for our members who are also vendors of sewing supplies to be able to continue to interact with the other members here.

Louise may post in any of the areas other registered members are able to post.  However, she will have to pay for a subscription =just like everyone else= if she wishes to post in the areas that are behind the paywall.

Well, then!  I agree that we move all our conversation related to CLD here (this is a suggestion from the other site).  My only problem is that this area is "so far down" on my computer page I forget to check, however, habits can be changed/developed.  If it matters to us as we are saying, lets do it and not just talk about it.

Louise, just wanted to say I recently received my first Louise Cutting pattern and I was most pleasantly stunned to see how extensive and helpful your instructions are. (I know that everyone mentions it, but it was lovely to experience it first hand.)

It will be a while before I get around to actually making it up, as I have a long list of other projects I need to get to first.

I am a rule follower.  If you say we need to post here, I will do that!  :)

The added benefit is that here in the vendor section, non-subscribers like yourself, LyndaC , can post, which is not the case for much of the rest of the site. To be able to post on the other Cutting Line topic, you'd have to pay the $35 subscription fee.

To my mind, for Louise and her followers (myself included), it's a win-win to carry on the conversation here.

If you're on Face Book - Louise has started a group - Terri K is posting her inspirations there.  Louise posted how to do her 'go to' top and also the forward shoulder adjustment.  Come have a look

Too bad we have to go to Facebook (which I dislike more and more, given its myriad of security issues) to get to see the designs.

I'm still hoping that Louise and TerriK will come back here now and again for a visit. After all, this topic is open to non-subscribing members as well as paid members.

I love FB!

Marciae, I'm having a love/hate relationship with FB. Could you (or anyone else) share some tips on managing groups on FB? I am often overwhelmed with those postings and don't see the personal ones that I'd prefer. Do you just go to the group area and read instead of having the msgs dump into your feed?

I'm on several sewing groups - among other groups.  When someone posts to those groups it's going to show up in your "feed" - along with the things your "friends" post and some advertisements.  If I feel like I'm getting too many posts from a certain group - you can opt out.  Other than that I don't know how you 'manage'!?  As most sewing groups are 'closed' you have to request permission and wait until an admin approves you.  On all the groups that I belong I can comment, or hit the 'like' button - but you can not share a post.  I'm not sure I was much help or really answered your question!  I notice more and more sewing folks are posting on FB.

I'm on FB, but it doesn't really compare to SG. It's more a thumbs up/thumbs down kind of place, with pictures thrown in. In my experience with groups, there's not the good in-depth discussion that we've gotten here on SG.

So far, most of Louise's group postings have been on the order of "so glad you accepted me", etc etc. Yes, there've been a couple of photos from Teri K, who's probably not going to come back here for her own reasons; and yes, the instructions for the "go to" top were posted, but so far that's been all the substance that I've seen.

But it's early there AND it's important to remember that it's early HERE in our new, paid subscription model. So too early to draw conclusions on either approach, imo.

I use Facebook and I belong to the CLD forum as well as about five others related to sewing.  One is able to peruse just the group postings or wait for the comments to 'pop up' in the feed...it really depends on preference.  In most of my forums there are in depth discussions about sewing and patterns with ready help from other sewists but these are the more mature groups which I believe the CLD forum will become with time.  I enjoy the variety that comes with these forums.

I also faithfully come to SG's site and still enjoy reading what folks are doing.  The combination works great for me.
