I think there were 7 of us who made it to Sweet Tomatoes.     Carole, Lynda and her friend, Alice, Joan and Carolyn and myself.      Sweet Tomatoes was a huge place and quite a chaotic place on a Friday night, but we found two tables opposite one another, had a healthy meal and good fellowship  Smiley     Carole and I are thinking about attending the Pattern Review (PR) Weekend Montreal on June 18th - 20th.   Great time of year to visit Montreal where I've never been before.    That would be great fun.

And then I know there will be many going to the ASG convention in Atlanta.     I'm going to investigate to see if one of the Asheville Sewing groups, Waechters or the Quilt Guild, is, or would be interested in chartering a bus and blocking some hotel rooms.      It's only a 3 1/2 hour drive from here to Atlanta, but its boring.

Terri,

I had a great time getting to know all of you this weekend.  I hope more can join us in August at the AGS and next year.

I hope everyone has a great sewing week and starts working on all of their goodies they bought.  After my stepson and I finish his backpack, I plan to dig into the wonderful fabrics I bought!

Alice, you and Joan were so busy I hardly saw or heard from you the whole time.   And cell phone service in the Holiday Inn and the Expo hall was terrible and you couldn't hear if your phone did ring in the Expo hall.     So I'm sorry I didn't get to see as much of you, and spend more time with you.

Velma (Barbara)  I checked out of the hotel Saturday morning so I missed seeing you and Carol this time.   I was over at the Discover Mills when it rained and hailed that afternoon  Shocked  Hope to see you at ASG.

Alice I agree about Vogue Fabrics.    I succumbed to some coordinates that were marked as Ann Klein.   They were synthetics but good rayons, tencels or stretch polys.   And at $4.99 a yard .... well that's less than a sandwich in the Expo hall.      I'm working on getting in with a group coming from Asheville for the ASG.

I did get to visit with lots of friends I had met at events in Asheville and at prior Expos.    I treasure all the memories of them and your projects.

I was the one that got the "traffic ticket surprise" after I got home.  They sent a copy of the photo in the citation, and while I realize they can be photoshopped, I was indeed in the middle of the intersection and the light was red.  Definitely my car and tag.

Robbie, were you at the Expo?  Or was that an earlier incident?  Terri, Alice, Carolyn, Joan, Lynda:  it was a lot of fun meeting everyone.  I only went for that one day but got fabric from Louise and some great buttons.  I knew that Sunday I was due for a visit to Gail K's so I was saving my pennies for that.  I'm looking forward to ASG and I certainly hope we have better weather.

Yes.  Sammi is safe at home.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the crate door shut adequately and she got out and set off the alarm.  When I arrived home, she was on the couch (not allowed) just wagging her tail as happy as can be.  There was poop on the floor, knitting scattered about, and her doggy bed turned upside down.  She looked like a teenager whose parents are away for the weekend.

What an adventure she had while I was away, and how sulky she looked when I put her back in her crate.

She's absolutely adorable and the sweetest dog ever.

I plan to cut into some of my Expo fabric tonight and work on the new skirt pattern from hot patterns.  I have a muslin cut out and hope to finish.  Then  make it in a natural linen, and a white textured fabric from Vogue.

Alice, good luck with the new alterations method.  I have used them before and really liked it.  I tend to use whatever alteration method I'm in the mood for, and what I think will work best.
