Ahhh, Karen, it's a good thing my sewing room is already a stable filled with lovely old Berninas, or I'd pounce on these offers!

Is the 830 still available?  If so would you accept a money order?  I am a serious buyer.  If so tell me amount (including shipping) and where to mail to.

Hi

I have responded several times but my messages don't seem to be getting through.  I just need address to sent payment to.  If you send to my e-mail it should go through.  I added you to my address book.  Sorry for the questionaire.  My spamblocker does that I guess automatically not by my request.

Rachel - I resent the em soon as you said you cleared the address!  I haven't received anything from you - just sent it again via pm.

Kath - I have been fortunate to collect for awhile and add/subtract to/from the collection.  My main go to machine right now is a 165.  I love these classics and would love to keep a mechanical for backup but the lighting on the 165 is sooooo helpful to my poor vision I just don't use the others and DD made me take her mechanical Pfaff back with me when I gave her one of my other machines for her bd, so if ever I didn't want computerization (i.e. on the rare occasion when we have real thunder/lightening storms!!!!) I have that.  I have a GORGEOUS 1030 that looks brand new that I am toying with parting with, it is absolutely pristine and has some sentimental value so I haven't been able to offer it up yet, but it's not getting used and I'm not re-employed yet and they'd been selling well on ebay so perhaps the writing's on the wall?  Guess that was a long answer to a short question!!!!

Oh, I love, love, love my 1030! My daughter just moved to Boston and wants a machine. Said 'I want one like yours Mom'. Ha! I told her I bought it USED 16 years ago, good luck with that! She never showed much interest in sewing until college. Then needed costumes, curtains and suddenly, she was interested (amazing what small budgets do for you!). THEN she took costume class (theatre major) and said she always ran in to get the Bernina in the lab  Grin I taught her well! So if you decide to part with it, let me know, I'll see what her budget is!

I'm still popping in here to see how things are going, not having made any decisions yet about whether a new or used Bernina is in my future.  Wink  I used my 830 while my Rose was in the shop and it rekindled my interest in owning another Bernina.  The 830 is absolutely wonderful but I missed some of the Rose's computerized features.

Hi there,
Is your 1030 for sale? I've always wanted a Bernina 1030.  I know it's stupid but I love the Light Blue and White color.  Thank you!

Karen,

You got a generic question about oiling a Bernina 830.  I've split that off into it's own topic on the Sewing Machines board, since sale threads are deleted fairly regularly, once the sale is accomplished.   Smiley

The new thread is titled "Oiling Bernina 830" (and you can click through to it from the underlined link  Wink Smiley).

Thanks!

Lisa

Found: a favorite silver bracelet that I hadn't seen for a while.  On its four quarters it says "Welcome Introspection; Accept Wisdom; Seek Illumination; Embrace Innocence."   It's like a "magic 8-ball" on the wrist...

Thanks Lisa I was going to suggest that as I think there are others who may be able to answer that more effectively than I.

Re: the 1030....  ok it's for sale.  I've had a few inquiries since its mention and as a believer of "things happen for a reason" that must be the writing on the wall.  I don't think the reason for wanting the 1030 is stupid at all.  It's exactly why I got it in the first place! It has sentimental value as its previous owner is a good friend and offered me the job working for the machine dealer.  That said... had I not found this mint condition machine from her I wouldn't have made such a good friend (we sat and talked for hours when I went to pick it up and I left with a new friend and a job offer!) and while the machine can go on to be well loved by another I will keep my friend!  It is in pristine condition with all original accessories.  $950 + shipping, U.S. only, bank ck. or m.o./postal m.o./personal check (must clear first).  Thanks!   I'll respond to individual inquiries via pm or em ok?  Thanks again.

And if anyone's interested.... there's a 950 semi industrial with table looking for a new home too.   Wink  But it would have to be picked up, no way I'm going to attempt to ship that baby!

Re: the 1030....  ok it's for sale.

OMG . . . I am soooo tempted, but have waaay too many machines already.    My dealer owns either a 1030 or 1031 and she will not part with it.       ~sighs . . . with sewing machine lust in my heart . . . ~

You can have too many?  Huh
One time when I worked for the dealer, first location, small and not well patronized, a lady came in and was looking at possibly adding (another) embroidery machine.  While we were talking she glanced around (we were the only two people in the store) to be sure the walls didn't have ears then leaned into me and whispered "Karen, I have SEVEN sewing machines".  I whispered back "that's a good start"!  Cheesy
Well I am glad you're tempted I didn't realize this baby would get so much interest. Darnit now I've got to pet it and think about it some more. ... Tongue

I've gotten several inquiries about this baby so I put together a photo set on flickr, I think I may have missed responding to someone --

Look Doris.  Look look!!!!!
BTW, the photo dates show something in 07.  Just took them this morning.  I haven't figured out how to change the date on camera.  Instructions have nothing to do with actual display... Roll Eyes
