The photos will be posted on my Flickr site. They will be e-mailed to me and then when they are all in place there will be the grand reveal!

The first date that I will accept posts is April 22. I will post the e-mail address on that date.
If anyone has a problem – you will be away or unavailable, then you may pm me and I will arrange to accept your post early.
The last date for posting is May 8 and no late posts will be accepted. This gives you a bit of extra time for taking photos – not for sewing!

A minimum of 6 photos, maximum 12 will be required.

At least one of the photos must be of you wearing one of your outfits. The other photos may be on you, on a dress form or any other way which shows them well.

You should show how you plan to combine tops and bottoms, the decorative details you have used and together should show everything.  You’ll probably need to photograph some bottoms more than once.
As the emphasis this year is on sewing and embellishing skills you should include close-up photos that show a) matching a stripe or print, b) embroidery, beads or sashiko and c) buttons or unusual closure.

Composites will be allowed, but only if they show details of the same outfit, e.g. a back view, a close up or the decorative detail. You may not show two different outfits on the same photo; such photos won’t be posted!

Please number each photo and then add a brief note to describe each one, any decorative detail and when you plan to wear it, e.g. 1) Pink cotton Jalie top with embroidery, + khaki poly/cotton BWOF pants; weekend shopping. You should also indicate whether the garment was purchased or previously sewn.

Also include a short paragraph about your current life style and indicate how you have showcased your sewing and embellishing skills.

You may also include a link to your blog or personal photo site if you have one.

A note about the photos –

Because voting depends almost entirely on how your garments look try to make them as clear as possible and crop out unnecessary background. Garments will always look better on a person or a dress form than flat or on a hanger. However, you may get better photos of the detail if they’re taken flat – experiment!

Try and enlist a helper, husband, child or friend rather than the “take it myself in the bathroom mirror” type!
I won’t disallow this sort of photo but you’ll be doing yourself a favour if you can possibly avoid them.

If you need to re-size your photos then the longest side should not be less than 800 pixels and preferably no more than 1300 pixels.  Flickr will automatically size down if necessary, but won't size up - and I won't either!

FINAL POSTING DETAILS.

Please email me at   annrowleyukuk at yahoo.co.uk (Substitute @ for at)

The subject line should be the exact title of your SWAP, which includes your name.

Attach your photos - details above – numbered, but no title, in the order in which you want them to appear.

Include a numbered note for each photo.

Add a paragraph about your current lifestyle and how you have showcased your sewing and embellishing skills.

Include a link to your blog or photo site if you would like to.

                                                     ___________________________________________

The last date for posting is Saturday May 8, although sewing must stop on April 30.

Please help me by posting as soon as you can - I hope to have everything in place on my Flickr site for a Grand Reveal on Monday May 10.
The first 10 posted get a prize...

Because we are allowing more photos this year you may prefer to send me this in two parts. In this case add Part one/two to the subject line and include your final paragraph in part 2.

It will really help me if you follow these rules as closely as possible - even if you think you have a 'better' way this is what works for me.  Smiley

Thank you also! If anyone has a good tutorial for making composites or knows of a good one, maybe post a link here so as to even the playing field a little as far as that goes.

Thanks Ann, I was about to throw in the towel as I'm quite far behind but the extra week to take pictures might give me just enough time to finish the sewing before the 30th!

I use fotoflexer (free and online) to edit my pictures. Hope that helps, Licarrit.

Found: a favorite silver bracelet that I hadn't seen for a while.  On its four quarters it says "Welcome Introspection; Accept Wisdom; Seek Illumination; Embrace Innocence."   It's like a "magic 8-ball" on the wrist...

I have just heard from Kathryn that I missed one of her photos - it has now been added to her Venn wardrobe SWAP  (It's photo 5)
My apologies to Kathryn.

If anyone else has noticed any mistakes or omissions please let me know - I thought I had checked carefully but this one got away...I do hope there aren't any more.
