Oh the bunny is soooo cuute

And the cardi is fascinating and looks very cuddly.

In comparison my new Jalie wrap top seems somewhat pedestrain, though very comfortable.

Thank you all so much, Stash, Andrea (CanAndi), MaryPat, AnnRowley, BetsyV, Leslie, Martha, Mardel, Shams, Karen, and Janis for your really sweet compliments on my DD's career dress.  She is delighted with it, and I am delighted to move on to another project!

Madrona, I really enjoy seeing the sewing you do for your DD--the Hallowe'en treat bag and the bunny costume are simply the best! Of course it helps that you've got one of the most adorable models in the land for that bunny outfit.  Wink

Actually, Ruthie, I was thinking that top looked rather "high end".  Not ordinary!

Lovely accomplishments here!  I really admire those with the patience and quick productivity to photodocument and report details on blogs.  As i think about it I am much faster working at a desk on a pc than on "laptop anywhere".  Maybe that would get me motivated.

Ruth, I meant to comment about your pretty top in my last post and somehow hit Post without doing it. Sorry!

I really love the clean colors of the aqua and white combination, and the stylized floral print is really nice as well. That top is going to blend in nicely with your wardrobe. Enjoy wearing it.

. . . being able to complete a project in one sitting does wonders for the confidence.

That is so true!  Every now and then I will take a  class at my sewing machine dealer, just for fun and fellowship, and the knowledge that I will leave class with a completed project.

Lovely photos, everyone!
Kathryn, your DD's career dress is gorgeous and I love the color.   I really need to look into trying some of the Sophia knit.
Anne's knitting . . . I was a disaster at knitting and am in awe of your work.

Ah, be careful. I use a mac laptop & evdo... and now I'm antsy sitting at a desk.   Wink  My home desk actually has no computer on it, it's more comfortable to work from the sofa these days!

I'm loving all the wonderful sewing shown here. By Friday every week I'm anxious to get back to the sewing room and get my fix!

Stash, this is coming a little late, but I loved the Jalie top you made for DD, so I ran out and bought the pattern.  That's the one I got at Bolt.  Well done!

Too bad it ended up with DDIL instead. Grin  DD is so skinny I made it to fit her bust and it was too short through the torso. Sad  I have made that pattern twice, so if you have any questions, let me know?  My other DDIL needs an FBA for that pattern.

The blues here are just so pretty.
Kathryn, I really like what you did with the pleats on your dd's dress. The gathers, as specified in the Kwik Sew pattern would have been really cumbersome in the Sophia knit. As always, your work is just impeccable.

Ruthie, that is such a pretty top too. I'm a sucker for stencil prints of white on color. Always have been. Such nice clean lines.

And of course, the bunny is just too too cute. Great T&T bags too.

Nothing big like others have been doing and me drooling over the results. Yesterday was Embroidery Club and I wasn't impressed with the project until I got started. I did a poinsetta that has somehow gotten a dirty mark on it and I can't find my Tide to Go. I made it out of white felt with organza over it and loved the results. The wine bottle bag was also made out of felt and looked tacky IMHO. We did a few changes to it and made it into a small gift bag. Most were made out of Xmas fabric but mine is totally different. I made the piping, lined the bag and put a few things into it for under the tree for our DD. I love the embroidery and chose maple and dark pine green for the colours and put it onto navy bali. I am thinking about another one for DSIL that has moose on it. Gotta love these crazy projects.

Marji, thank you for the compliment on the dress I made for my DD.  Coming from you, that means a lot!  I always enjoy seeing your work.

Ann, that boots/hat print is just the cutest. It looks like it should hold some cowboy/girl whiskey instead of wine. Grin

Well, I just finished a dolly project - a civil war era suit - so I thought I'd post pictures here since the doll thread doesn't get enough traffic for my vanity  Roll Eyes

What fun you've had Elizabeth and what beautiful clothes.  It reminds me of a time when I did this sort of thing (the daughter whose doll I dressed is now 53!) and how much I enjoyed it.  I love all the details...

The doll outfits are gorgeous. What a lot of detail you have done on each of them. I enjoyed looking at all the pictures of this doll. Now I want one and have no idea where to buy one in Canada.

Elizabeth - Gorgeous!

The first things I ever made with my chainstitch machine were doll clothes. That was a very very long time ago.

And I always "show unread posts since last visit" so I don't miss anything ...

Oh Elizabeth, what fun!  I will definitely follow the doll clothes thread.  I only had one son who wasn't into dolls (except for one Cabbage Patch named Daniel Smiley), so I never got to make doll clothes.  My son just got engaged, though, so maybe there is a granddaughter in my future to satisfy both of my sewing desires - doll clothes and adorable little, frilly, froo froo dressess Cheesy.

Very very cute, Elizabeth!!  I looked through your album and you have made some adorable clothes for Kirsten!!

I love the scale of the American Girl dolls -- much easier to sew for than Barbie, like my mother did.  Cheesy

DS sent me this photo this morning.  DDIL wearing the Jalie 2804 that I made for DD. It was too small for DD so DDIL next in line.   DDIL is under 5 feet tall.  I see things to fix but she liked it so I kept my lips sealed. Grin  But, I think I would cut the sleeves a little roomier next time

Oh Stash, your DDIL is so pretty in that lovely pink top. What a sweet gift. I love the way you trimmed the neckline with the "cami" fabric.

Elizabeth, what beautiful doll clothes!

I agree about those 18" dolls.  When I was 7 and first became sewing envious a friend down the street had a mom who made ALL her cutest Barbie clothes... and clothes for her to match. I thought that was the most amazing fashion thing on earth, my first yearning to learn to sew.  I did one Barbie outfit for DD, made a Dorothy outfit as she was ogling that $$$ Dorothy Barbie.  I just remember thinking why in the world do people do this?  But to each their own. But really, even the machine feet are just to big to get in some of those spaces!
That doll looks very happy with her adorable new outfit!
At last the famous pink shirt on a body!  She looks very happy to have it and oblivious to the sleeves!  If they're stretchy enough anyway it's ok that they're snug.

Elizabeth, I'm also impressed by your dolls clothes.

Janis, I did have a daughter and make a few dolls clothes, but they were totally ignored.  I have learned to make what she will like and not what I would like her to like.  She was very cute in dresses until she learned to express her opinion!

Stash, Jalie sleeves do tend to be on the tight side, but that top is gorgeous on your DDIL.  The colour is so pretty on her -  if you look closely, it's the same colour as the roses in her cheeks.

I finished a second gift bag this morning and just bought some ribbon for it. This one is for DSIL and it has moose fabric for the body. The embroidery is done in a sage green with dark green outline. I really like these bags and will be doing another one for DH. I have an idea for the fabric for his but need to see if I can find it.

Now to return to the western shirt I am making. Doing the sleeves now and want to finish it today but I doubt if that will happen.

I am adding a photo with the poinsetta in it. I got some Tide to Go and it removed most of the stain. I have several more poinsettas to make but they won't get done until after I finish a shirt I am working on. I am working on the sleeves right now but will have to quit soon. I have some school work to do.

Stash very cute top on your DDIL and it looks like she appreciates it!

Ann more really cute gift bags. Glad to hear most of the marks came off the poinsettia.

I finished my short winter coat today and posted photos on the thread I started earlier for this pattern: look here. I also added photos to my album here.
