I bought this Missoni fabric back towards the end of the year from Fine Fabrics

I finally decided to use B5247 view B to make a dress out of it.  I was so scared to cut the fabric because it is so pretty, but I got up the nerve.  It took me only about 3 hours (not counting cutting out) to make the dress.

Blessedtosew,  Wow!  The dolman sleeve is perfect for the Missoni.  Nice job!

Great job, BTS.  What is the fiber content of that Missoni fabric?  Is it soft or cottony?

Really, really cute!  And you can't complain about the time factor, either.  Wink

I would say it is cottony.  It is not soft.

That is so cute, and it looks comfortable, too.  Is it a cotton or a synthetic?  It appears quite soft.

Thanks.  I love the fabric.  I have some scraps leftover and I can't bear to throw them away.  I just have them in the box the fabric came in sitting in my closet.

blessedtosew, if you have enough scrap, you could make some cute little fingerless mittens/driving gloves, maybe with a ruffle at the wrist.  A close friend hand-knit me a pair of these mini-mitts in a cotton yarn, and they are my favorite warm weather driving gloves (keep the hands dry on the steering wheel, and limit the amount of sun exposure, too).  I've seen sewing patterns for these.

That is such a great idea. I have often wondered what the purpose of fingerless gloves are (other than fashion, which is perfectly okay Grin), but I have been wanting something to cover my hands when I drive.

I knew I had seen a pattern somewhere.  Lyla Messinger has one:
