Just this spring I started making handsewn silk evening bags. So I am curious anyone else who also likes making handsewn silk evening bags ? I am now making a dupioni silk evening bag from a free pattern I found online at the Butterick patterns site

The silk evening bags in dupioni sound lovely. I have not done that but would love to see pictures when you've finished. Hope you'll share.

Sewing dupioni bag is another skill we have to master if we want to indulge into fashion. Yeah, I know not all people appreciate girly stuff but sometimes the feminine side of women will always prevail. Belleberyl, are you done with your craft? I am very excited to see it. Please post some pictures when it is done. I'm hoping that you sell it, just kidding aside Grin.

I haven't made full-sized silk evening bags (just little cell phone holders), but several ladies at pattern review have used a very pretty, I think now OOP Vogue pattern by Linda Carr for theirs:

I Love the idea of a silk duppioni bag. I wonder if any of the Amy Butler patterns would work. BelleBeryl, are you stiffening the fabric and if so with what?
