Do you think that the Amy Butler "Sophia" bag would work made out of leather?  I love this pattern and I have been wanting to work with leather for the first time.

Go for it!  I don't see any reason why not?  I will be watching your progress as I have been wanting to do the same thing.  I have the Hot Patterns satchel  pattern all ready to try out then make one in leather.

I have made this bag in fabric and it was......cranky.  It took a lot of manhandling to make it go together.

So I don't know that I would use it as my FIRST leatherworking project.

But that is just me, don't let me stop you if this is what inspires you!   Grin

I am getting ready to cut this out.  Just curious, how hard is putting the zipper in??  I am an amatuer sewer...only been sewing for a year.  I have made many of Amy's bags....madision, high street messeenger, chelsea, birdie sling, and betty shopper.  I have read the instructions for about 2 weeks and keep putting off because of that stupid zipper section....seems complicated.

How hard is it ?  Any tips?

Thanks.
