Plaid skirt??? In or out of fashion?

Elle:  I think, after wearing it and looking at it in the bathroom mirror everytime I walked by  , that I DO want the loops.  I didn't think it would matter when I first ditched the idea, but I've changed my mind.  I think they would make the waist "POP" a little more, a distinctive design element.  I'm going to try the top stitch idea tonight (I worked on it in my head all night) 
I do have a couple os sweaters that will go well & a black wool jacket. I have a lot of fabric left, so that's not an issue.

Well done BeeBee.  Your skirt is a true classic and the fabric is a plaid boucle like I've seen as a Chanel type jacket as well.   That's why it ravels like it does - been there with more than one of those ravelly boucles.

BeeBee, YOU are the designer!  Isn't that fun?  I too am a "re-new" sew-er, am having fun with these designer issues.

That's why I call us sewists, Elle.  Couldn't stand the look of that other word in its unhyphenated state.

Liana, thanks for this good idea about belt loops. Hadn´t occured to me yet (and haven´t read about it), but I did have problems with not being able to turn the fabric for a belt loop. Wow, how I love this forum, always something useful for me to learn! Thank you!

Beebee, I especially like the high waist of you skirt. Looks great on you!
