Wow, Lisanne!  Thank you so much!  I always get stuck at the 3000 different stabilizers.

Thanks Pina for the links you shared!  I have not been visiting SG much since the format has changed so much. It is nice to see your name appear again.

Hi to all of you who are keeping this site going.

Lynda in LV

Lynda, it's nice to have you back and checking in on a favorite topic. Pina's wonderful links are always inspiring.

:wave3:  Happy 4th of July to all my sewing/embroidery brothers and sisters !  :heart_smilie:

Peace Arch -The inscription on the US side reads - Children of a common mother and on the Canadian side - Brethren dwelling together in unity.

Lisanne, the day I bought my embroidery machine I had a half hour hooping and stabilizer lesson,(one hour a few days later how "save as" embroidery designs online etc.). Embroidery Library's tutorials are very good.

Lisanne, good tips on embroidery.  And I agree - with your process.

Martha, Sometimes you just have to 'play'; stitch out some designs as practice and get comfortable with basic stabilizers and how your machine works.

Thanks, Paula.  I’m sure I will become more comfortable with practice.  I was going to say ‘with time’ but then I realized that was totally incorrect.  Years go by between my forays into embroidery and I feel like I’m always reinventing the wheel.  I have an undemanding project in mind, which is luring me back in again.

You're lucky Pina.  Here the sewing machine dealers within 30 miles can get an embroidery machine on special order but have no-one who knows how to use one.
I'm talking about the on-line classes, DVDs and books I've tried.
Does this bring you joy, calm, confidence  :D  if not, try something else.

Lisanne, the dealer I like to visit,(only 16 km away),has been in business 75 years. It will be a sad day when the friendly and very kind couple,(the original owner's grandson and his wife),retire.  They adopted my embroidery machine's warranty, after the out of town dealer lost the dealership,(another story I shared before  :grinning: ).

The Accidental Embroiderer - Mia  ............."A really big freebie. Right – it’s time for a freebie, and after some thought, and encouragement from blog reader Ramona, I’ve decided to give away the big Jacobean bellpull that I posted some time ago. Now, this is a BIG project, made up of 6 different individual designs, so I’ll need to spread it out over several months, posting one design a month.

Please note that these are very large designs: not in the sense of size (they’re all for the 5x7 hoop) but they all have a lot of stitches – somewhere between 40,000 and 50,000 stitches for each part.  There are three ways you can use these designs................"

Oh gosh, what a gorgeous bell pull, Pina.

I'm trying to find a place for it. It would be such fun to make.

Lisanne and Kathryn, I like Mia's gorgeous bell pull too !

My older embroidery machine has a smaller embroidery area. Once I was able to keep a 5x7 church embroidery design in the software frame on my PC,then resize it smaller to scale without distorting the design. Usually larger designs jump out of the 4x4 software frame. Some of my friends kept the embroidered church fabric postcard and display it every Christmas,I never took a picture. Maybe I embroider church fabric postcards for DS and his long term care home resident friends and scan a picture. By the way this lightweight aluminum EMS Stair Chair arrived,(I hope DH and I can manage to lift DS upstairs in his stair chair).

If you like the Pfaff blog embroidery design, please click on hier herunterladen könnt, the download appears. Tequila Sunrise Cocktail downloadable tutorial and free design in Recource Center,(after sign in).0

Kathryn, maybe you like to look at the “Fruit Topped Triple Chocolate Pizza” recipe here. The Pampered Chef cookbook "All the Best" with the “Fruit Topped Triple Chocolate Pizza" recipe followed me home yesterday. After I drove DH to the retina clinc,(he has wet AMD and gets monthly injections into his eyes),I stopped at a SPCA thrift store on the way home. I think the recipe compliments the cute Unicorn Pizza Party embroidery design.  :grinning:   :grinning:

Down here is a soft and squishy stuffed octopus,as well other projects that can be embroidered. Backpack and lunchbox, colorful fabric shoe laces, little fox bag, click on load more at the bottom of the page.
