Hi JustGail,

Nicely done!  But it's even easier to make large pictures smaller (without having to save a smaller version at Wordpress).  If I start with the code for your first picture (the really large one), it looks like this:
Code: [Select]
[img]http://justgail.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/img_4845.jpg[/img]All I need to do to make it smaller, is specify the width inside the opening img code.  The format is as follows:
Code: [Select]
[img width=500]When I put that inside the opening tag for your image it looks like this:
Code: [Select]
[img width=500]http://justgail.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/img_4845.jpg[/img] which resolves like this:

If I thought that was still too big, I could make it smaller by reducing the pixel size specified inside the opening img tag.  If I change it to 400, the code looks like this:
Code: [Select]
[img width=400]http://justgail.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/img_4845.jpg[/img] which resolves like this:

Give it a try! (We want posting pictures to be easy!) :pinkpom:

Paula, the photo you're trying to show is marked Private, so no one else can see it. You should change its status to Public if you want others to see it on your Flickr site.

Here are some instructions about posting a photo from your Flickr site:

To post photos with your Flickr account,

1.  Go to the Flickr picture that you want to post here. Be sure it's not a thumbnail.

2.  Over that photo, you will see the word "Share". Click on it.

3.  Select the Grab the HTML/BB code option.

4.  Select the "BB code" radio button

5.  Highlight the code that appears in the box when you clicked on the "BB code" radio button. Copy it.

6.  Come back here to your Post window. Paste the copied BB code.

7.  The picture will appear when you click "Preview" or "Post". That is, it won't appear as a picture in the window where you are typing, only after you hit Preview or Post will it appear.

Oh, now I can see it on Flickr. I no longer get the "this photo is private" message but get the message that although the photo is private, I have a guest pass from you to view it. Pretty placemats!

Yay! You did it!

You can change the size of the picture you post here by clicking on that little window just above the BB code radio button in the drop down menu where you grab the code. Give that a go, if you like.

Hi MrsBean!

You need to click the radio button (in the Flickr box) to select BBCode instead of HTML.  THen copy that code, come back here and paste it in your editing window.  You'll get this:

Please give it another try! :pinkpom:

Help!  In the past, I have successfully posted a photo from Flicker.  Now I would like to post again and include several photos in the same post.  I think my clipboard will only hold the url from one photo at a time.  How do I toggle back and forth between Flicker and Artisans Square so I don't lose my post?

Hi Sandy,

You need to have both Flickr and Stitcher's Guild open at the same time.  There are two ways of doing this.

If you're using a tabbed browser, open a second tab with Flickr (without closing the tab with Stitcher's Guild).  You'll be able to edit your SG post, and when you need something from Flickr, go to that tab (w/out closing the SG tab), grab what you need and come back to the SG tab, where your SG post will still be undisturbed.

If your browser doesn't support tabs, open your browser a second time (so you'll how two windows open separately).  Again, you want SG open in the first window and Flickr in the second window.  Whenever you want to toggle to the other window, hold the "Alt" key and hit the "tab" key.

Either will work. :)

It occurs to me that if you're working on a post for a time time, you might run into the board's "timeout" function.  (When you work on a post for a long time, you run the risk that your post will "timeout"--and you'll "lose" the post :o).  Fortunately, you can protect yourself against this risk.  Take a look at "this post" for a review of a procedure we suggest to avoid this.

HTH,

Lisa
