Thanks, for the heads up, Debbie.  I would not have thought to check back.  I placed an order....we will see what the outcome is.

Joan

Note from Linda, that my order is confirmed.  Yippee! (I think).  I, too have loaded up on EOS fabric these past few weeks.

I haven't been to EOS in a couple of days...so I went over and took a look because of all the talk and I found this:

I already own this piece from another fabric vendor and it is an amazing piece of fabric.  So if you are thinking about it...go for it before it's sold out!

Well, Carolyn, now I am going to check in over at EOS! I avoided the link when I checked my personal email at work this afternoon, but clearly I must MUST look! In spite of the fact that I ordered 3 fabrics from (shhhhhh) FM today  Roll Eyes

Gail K. Fabrics in atlanta has the Italian eyelet in red for only $8.00 a yard.  It is sixty inches wide, too.  I just bought three yards for a pretty dress.  If you call them, I am sure they will ship to you.

I just bought some of the silk knit. I promised myself last time she had it that I wouldn't pass it up this time. I have a feeling it's going to sell out as it's such a lovely, soft fabric.

Oh MY!, I just checked in to see what's new at EOS....even since the weekend she's put up some fabulous woolens.
Hold tight to the credit card dh...ohhh my!

edit to add: It's 97 degrees here, in the shade, and I'm drooling over wool.  blowsmind

edit again to add that I just could not wait on this one, as I can just see taking a day to decide, then have the SOLD OUT tag go on it.
the credit card is Smokin'

Wow, Marji, that is gorgeous fabric. I ordered some wool swatches and hope she won't be sold out by the time I make a decision. Some of that stuff on the site is just fabulous. I was eyeing that crazy blue flowered cotton voile and of course it's sold out. I'm glad I got my silk order in and this weekend will be making knit top muslins.

Here's the link to my PR review of the little swing jacket I made from the EOS capsule fabric I bought two years ago. I'm glad it's done and I can get to wear it.

On July 12, Carolyn pointed out a beautiful printed eyelet - this is still for sale on Emma One Sock.  In case anyone is interested, here is a skirt I did of this fabric last summer.  The fabric is finely woven and washes beautifully, so if you're still on the fence about that fabric, do get it!

Wow!  Barbara that skirt is beautiful!  And gives me a really good idea of what my fabric will look like made up!  I had planned on using it to make a dress - a duro style dress using some of the brown eyelet for the bands.  I mean if we are going trendy lets be trendy all the way, right!  Shocked

Carolyn, I  envision your dress - and am loving it already.  You're right - stick both feet in and take the 'eyelet' plunge!  The printed eyelet is so finely woven that it will drape wonderfully in the Duro fabrication.

Very nice skirt! I looked at that eyelet several times and couldn't envision what it would look like as a garment (VERY unusual problem for me)

I just bought these two fabrics from EOS to either make the LaFred Maia jacket or a Vogue OOP pattern jacket http://www.voguepatterns.com/item/V7833.htm?tab=jackets_coats&page=6  which is more car coat length:

http://www.emmaonesock.com/fabrics/woolwovens16108.asp

http://www.emmaonesock.com/fabrics/woolwovens16110.asp

I also really like this one:

http://www.emmaonesock.com/fabrics/woolwovens16725.asp

I have swatches and they're just gorgeous fabrics.

I'm thinking of making the main body of the coat/jacket in the green lambswool and the contrasting collar (or in the Maia jacket the side and back and collar and cuffs) in the coral.

Tell me what you think.

Also, thanks to simonfreep for helping me track down the OOP Vogue pattern. notworthy

Denise - just recently I purchased some coral wool, too.  Man, do I love, love, love that colour!!! Kiss  The lime/coral wool is amazing - I cannot wait to see your finished creations.

BTW - You're welcome - I love little challenges like finding patterns for people, so it was fun for me.

Heavens!  I thought I was on the Fabric Moratorium thread. Shocked Grin  But no, it's Enablers-R-Us !  Grin

I love to look at EOS fabrics, and then I try to wait a bit, because someone usually very helpfully gets that Sold Out sign up there before I make up my mind.  Sigh.  It's probably all for the best....  Wink

Shannon, I love that color, too, and was really torn about getting 2 yards of that versus the 2 yards of the green with coral. I wear green so much and I would love to have an all-coral coat. Yipes, I'm driving myself nuts.

Liana, you gotta know that I'd never post fabric swatches on the moratorium thread. I started it to help credit card abusers like myself stay on the wagon. However, that being said I'm off the moratorium for a while and I was so, so good while I stuck to it. I'll probably go back on in August and Sept. - or will be forced to when DH sees the bill come in for this latest EOS purchase. eek2

BTW, anyone have a suggestion on the pattern? Liana, I know from your blog that you have a great eye for matching fabrics to patterns so I'd love your feedback.

Denise, I know you wouldn't.  I was just kidding! Wink  I was going through my Unread Topics, and thought I'd hit one thread and actually got another, but I realized right away what the deal was.

I do read the Fabric Moratorium to give me strength.   Smiley  I have quite the inventory on hand, and I just keep telling myself to get on with it.  It is so much fun to look and drool a little though. Roll Eyes Smiley

Denise, What about Vogue 2988  one of the new wardrobe patterns?

I think you could do a lot with your 2 colors, either doing the inside of the collar and facings in one color and everything else in another, or use the interesting seaming for some very bold color blocking.

The Vogue 7833 looks to me like it needs to have a heavier fabric for the edging, or you'd need to topstitch it a lot or something, and I think it might be nice to have something that would use the perfectly matched coordinatingfabrics as is, without changing one's texture, if that makes sense.  You could also do a lot with the other pieces in the group if you felt like it. Denise, we must have very similar tastes in fabric, because I got some of that green/coral EOS wool as well!  It arrived a week or so ago.  I didn't get the coral solid wool that coordinates with it, but instead got some coordinating floral silk that had both of those colors in it.  I think it's sold out there now, otherwise I'd post a picture.

 I'm planning to make this

and the ruffles around the neckline and sleeves will be the floral silk.  I got enough of the tweed to make a matching pencil skirt too.

Your plans for the fabric sound wonderful.  I love that Vogue pattern and the contract coral will be fabulous!

Liana: I was looking at that Vogue pattern, too. I would lengthen the sleeves as I really want a warm coat and I'm not sure how the funnel neck would look on me, but I'm getting the pattern and will do a mock-up. If it doesn't get made in the EOS wool it will get made in some of other fabric I have in the stash. But when I saw it I said, aha, perfect for that Barry Bricken wool at EOS. Not certain if I would rather have something more casual. That's a decision I guess I'll make when all the patterns are in-hand, and I can line them up and look at the fabric.

Wow, Janet, your jacket sounds like it'll be just gorgeous. That fabric is so beautiful, I would have loved to get two yards in the coral also but it's kind of expensive. I may add another yard if she still has it later on. But I think those are fabrics that will not hang around to be sold off as roll ends. Meanwhile, I'm going to make tanks and Ts from the silk knit I just got in.

I need some help to decide what jacket to make from this fabric .

I just had to have it .... crush and in the beginning I was thinking a version of FSG 1945 and then perhaps one of  Loes Hinse's jackets (lined).  Any thoughts??  Undecided   By the way I am pretty much a traditionalist.

TIA

Joan, lucky you getting that fabric before it sold out. I think one of the LH jackets like the Piazza or Retro jacket would look very nice in that.  Or you might consider making a loose-fitting jacket with a sort of Western flair, lined with a silk that picks up some of the red in the design.

I just unwrapped the silk knit I got from EOS. It's luscious. I can't think of any other way to describe it.

I just added an extra half yard of the coral to my order. I may use it as the body of the jacket or I may just hang onto the extra yardage for either a skirt or trim on some other project - or maybe piping.

My EOS order has arrived and I can't tell you how gorgeous those Barry Bricken lambswools are. Now I'm looking at this fabric:
http://www.emmaonesock.com/fabrics/fancy16912.asp for a fall jacket. I've ordered a swatch. The Maia jacket may even work in this.

Marji, when you posted that pic of the mauve rosette wool doubleknit you ordered, I was drooling.  I said to myself, "if only it was blue!".

Look what's on her site today:

I swear Linda can read my mind sometimes! (Needless to say, I couldn't resist, especially with her free shipping offer through tomorrow.)

I noticed a couple of other wonderful wools that are new too...but am resisting those.  MANY of her wools already waiting for me downstairs.. Roll Eyes Grin
