Okay, for a woman who will spend next weekend with a fellow fabricaholic fabric shopping, you would think that I would not be visiting internet fabric stores! Well, you would be wrong, wrong, wrong!
New buttermilks are up on Emmaonesock for those who like them! There are also new rayon doubleknits, too! So hey, hurry right on over and purchase them before they are gone! I already got mine!
Yeah, I know I have issues but isn't that the first step admitting that you have a problem!

Marianne,
Stay strong! I only bought one buttermilk print even though I had three in the cart. I managed to talk myself off the ledge!
I am trying not to have too many prints in my collection since they age the fastest! My downfall is her sweater knits. I am sure that I could troll through the garment district and find something similar to them but it is so much easier to click into her site and find them all waiting there for me to choose! I guess I have replaced EOS this month with FM. I suppose that's only fair, and that I should share the love with all the fabric internet sources I like!

I am surfing Chico's catalog and saw this:
If this doesn't look like EOS fabric I don't know what does!!!!!
BTW, she has lots of new fabrics up! Even new rayon/lycra blends and after making the cardigan and skirt from them last weekend
I am looking for another color! This was a wonderful piece of fabric to work with and it washed and dryed beautifully. So if you haven't looked at her site lately ~ visit and visit soon. The best stuff always sells out quickly!
And I have no affiliation with EOS - just a fabric hog!!!!!

Ok all you enablers out there
I don't which posting convinced me I would be happy with a fabric purchase I hadn't actually touched, but I ordered two sale items from EOS this week and can hardly wait to feel them!
Now I think I'm her new best friend because of the nearly daily emails! I clicked through the link in today's email about new fabrics (ok, I was at work, don't tell, but it's FRIday!) and now I want to buy more already!
I am going to try to wait until my first purchase arrives so I can compare her descriptions and colors with my own perceptions, but I am sorely tempted, just the same!

I like her fabrics, but boy, she's gotten so expensive over the last year! It makes it much easier to resist these days.
Carolyn, you're right - that shirt definitely looks like EOS type fabric. She gets her fabrics from jobbers, I believe, so it's entirely possible that fabric will end up (or already has) on her website.

Ann ~ I know what you mean about the prices! But I still end up finding a piece or two that I really
must
have! I have somehow managed to escape the last onslaught but there is one piece that I am still salivating over. Maybe it will disappear from the site before I break down! But I am trying to think ahead to vacation and so I will be good!
BetsyV ~ I agree with Kathryn. Once that fabric arrives you are a goner! Linda's fabric always is much better in person than on the screen. The pictures aren't able to capture the depth of color or the fiber and hand content well. You will be very pleased!

Carolyn, you are so right about "being a goner!"!
I put up a new album this morning of a large part of "My stash". I arranged it so the 3 EOS fabrics I purchased (yes, I went back for another one!) are the first 3 posted. Link is in my signature below.
Now I have to figure out how to work with silk chiffon ...

Betsy ~ your new EOS pieces are gorgeous! Now, please tell me that the fabric you showed is just a small but interesting part of your fabric collection and not the entire collection! If it is, give me your address and I will send you some more!
Just kidding!

Actually, Carolyn, the stash album is most of my stash, probably 75 or 80%. I didn't sew for several years (gradute school at night, no room for a dedicated sewing area, etc etc) so I didn't buy any fabric for years. Plus, I am a fabric-aholic - once I get started looking/buying, I find it VERY difficult to stop, whether I have time to use it or not!
And I know I am not alone here!

What have y'all sewn up out of Linda's fav rayon doubleknit? I have a hunk of the chocolate brown, and want to use it as a SWAP type base. Oxford pants, probably for sure, are in the plan, but I'm having trouble visualizing a top/jacket that isn't boring.

Kathleen ~ I used that chocolate brown rayon/lycra for a
Jacket & Skirt
combo. I really liked working with the rayon/lycra. I think it would make a great pair of pants.

Kathleen, I used mine for the three black pieces in my
SWAP
-- the Sandra Betzina T (it was almost too beefy for that, but for a winter top it's ok), a Loes Hinse Gore skirt (gorgeous!) and some wide-leg New Look pants. Maybe you could use one of Loes' jacket patterns that are kind of different...the Bistro comes to mind...the knit is pretty stable and I think it would work for that!

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Lisa, I love your SWAP, so elegant! Carolyn, your outfit is very "put together". Carolyn, how did you do the hem in your skirt? Rayone falls so beautifully unhemmed, I'm always tempted to "leave as is". I like the idea of the Bistro, haven't made it in awhile, but it is nicely fitted. I'm still letting ideas percolate, so welcome any other suggestions.

Oooohhhh. Emmaonesock newsletter gives me heartburn. There are some absolutely gorgeous eyelets on there today. Found a beautiful Italian eyelet in a color called Wisteria and it was so beautiful. But, think I will have to pass at $34 per yard. I do not have a TNT pattern to use it and do not want to experiment at that price. Also received notification about new Marfy catalogue for Fall. Too much for one day.

I've gotten some very nice pieces from EOS, but I don't do a lot with nylon or rayon. So much of what she sells doesn't tempt me. I look for her bundles, of which there have been very few. I've gotten some lovely bundles and knits from EOS.

I believe EOS has developed into the online fabric store where you go to find unusual and different pieces and her new prices reflect that! C'mon you know you have opened the page and drooled over some of her pieces. Yes, the price makes you think twice but you know you aren't going to see yourself coming and going in her pieces. And where else have you been able to find Roberto Cavelli pieces in at least thinkable prices...
So EOS is still a favorite that I haunt almost daily...right after Fabric Mart and Gorgeous Things fabrics....

I know, I know. I've been hyperventilating over those gorgeous eyelets, too. What a fabulous sheath dress any one of them would make.
My wardrobe doesn't NEED an eyelet sheath dress, but that doesn't stop me from going to EOS almost daily and looking at those eyelets...

I go to EOS, FM and GT about 2x a week each. OK, 3x, really. OK, maybe 4.
EOS had a brocade last winter that I absolutely adored. BUT it was $50/yard. That's just too much. Right now she has an Escada brocade in wintergreen/bronze that I look at every time I visit. My next project is of a rayon knit I ordered at the end of May - it sold out so fast it didn't even get a "sold out" label I don't think. You have to be quick sometimes with EOS. I really like her double border eyelets but I really don't have a place to wear eyelet or any events this summer. A lot of her prints are just so big, even if I love the colors, I am usually a small print or solid kind of gal. I feel like I get lost behind a big print.
I definitely agree with Carolyn's assessment that you sure won't see yourself crossing the street when you're in one of EOS' fabrics!

Lisa, I have a piece of EOS eyelet that I bought a couple of months back with the intent of making a surplice top, but your description of a summer sheath sounds so good that I may just have to yoink that particular bit of inspiration from you. Thank you so much!
I also have Carolyn's beautiful chocolate eyelet ensemble pictured in my inspiration's mind's eye. Gosh, I love this place--just when I think I have run dry, someone sprinkles a little inspiration on, and I'm off and running!

Kathryn ~ I would love to see your take on that outfit! I am sure it would be beautiful! And to bring this back to EOS, I would love to have one of those eyelets but for the price per yard, I just can't think of how to corporatize the fabric...

I was feeling really lousy all weekend (since Thursday actually but called in sick today) so I cut out my next projects from the rayon knit I bought at the end of May: Thought I would post the news here since it's EOS fabric! If I have trouble with it or the pattern I'll start a new thread --- am I the only one who smirks every time s/he writes "thread" on this board
the middle view, boatneck with 3/4 sleeves
and
the camisole.
Am adding a shelf bra to this one using my daily-wear shelf-bra camisoles as a model. Doesn't seem it will be too difficult. We'll see how it goes together. I just cut duplicates of the front and back but only down to the notch, above where the waistline appears to be, for the shelves (?). Will add elastic to the bottom edge and keep the side seams free from the cami's side seams. The fabric is opaque; but I will probably put the print towards my skin and back up the two white reverse sidesto each other to avoid any potential "shadowing".
These will be my first knit projects and my first Jalie patterns. Didn't have any knits for muslins to make up so am leaping off the cliff with the good stuff anyway. Can't learn if we don't try!

Lisa, the fabric I have in mind is some of the wisteria eyelet that EOS had a couple of months back. I broke my moratorium last night to order some wisteria Ambiance for it. I tried linings of other colors, and even a print in similar hues, but the tone-on-tone looks best for this more muted color, to my eye, at least.
I have two patterns in mind, one a morph of a simple sheath sundress, and the other a Vogue cross-front design, more casual. I'm torn between the two looks, since one is a "heels and pearls" look and the other is a fun summer outing look. Since I have some Kashi eyelet in brown (perhaps the same one that you used, Carolyn), I could consider that for one or the other outfits. In the meanwhile, I'll play with something else.
About the EOS eyelet, the piece I got, while pricey, is really top notch quality. I have seen that same eyelet design in other colors in RTW, but it is not nearly as silky feeling and drapey as the EOS eyelet that I received.
Kathryn
Here's a photo of the eyelet:

More drool here...I wondered who bought some of that lovely fabric! And now I know that its in your very capable hands Kathryn! I can't wait to see what you finally decide to make with it! And yes, the chocolate eyelet is from Kashi. I am finding that brown is becoming my corporate black! It is sedate enough but has enough variations of color that it makes me happy and I don't look like everyone else in a meeting!

Bringing this topic to the top because Linda's posted a ton of new fabrics, some capsules (which I love for some reason) and gorgeous new stuff from her most recent trip to NYC. This, btw for anyone on the moratorium, is a serious ENABLER ALERT.

I placed this fabric in my cart last night to think about it,
. This morning Sold Out. If any of you got this one be sure to post your garment. I know it will be lovely. This is not first time I have lost out by delaying, but there will be other fabrics that will be just as great from EOS.

Loved that fabric also but I have bought so much from Linda the last couple of months! I did break down and buy a piece of the Theory knit for a t-shirt.
