Adjusting a princess seam blouse?
« on: March 02, 2011, 07:36:51 PM »
I'm working on the muslin for a blouse with a princess seam. The bust point doesn't hit at the right spot and I'm at a bit of a loss for how to do an FBA on a princess seam. I've done a few google searches and haven't found anything that switches the light bulb on. Any online tutorials you can point me to for help?

TIA -

Edited - I should add that I'm working on view F of http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/patterns/sewingpatterns.pl?patternid=14893

Kerri,
I just made a princess seam dress. In addition to using Fit for Real People and Betzina's Fast Fit, I used this tute from Sew Mama Sew

Hope I added the link correctly....having a little tech trouble today.

I usually use the Fit for Real People instructions.  I recently bought a new McCall pattern by Palmer and Pletsch which includes a further refinement of the princess seam full bust alteration. http://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m6076-products-10887.php?page_id=528 which they call a "Y".  I haven't tried it out yet.

Laura - that Debbie Cook link did the trick! The light bulb blinked on! I'll work on it tonight and see where that gets me.

Thanks for the help, Laura and Susan.
