Thank you SheriC!  Do you think they will ever do another Expo close to us? Kathryn, you are always so kind!

I finished the last of the three wool crepe pieces today.  It's a crop top vest thing from a late 1980s pattern - Vogue 8820 - but I couldn't find any images of it online (lots of the 1956 Vogue dress, but that's not the one I have).  I probably spent way too much time making it, but it might become an often worn piece - or not.  I underlined, lined, made covered buttons - kind of a theme I guess with this SWAP - did a lot of hand work.  Sigh.  Can't stop myself.

Goes with several things in the SWAP, so I am happy about that.  I will try to get better photos in the morning.  I took a couple these evening over the the black Alexi turtleneck and the TNT wool trousers, but they aren't the greatest mirror shots (and I realized how dirty my mirror is!)

Next up for sewing is BH's jacket.  His weight is still way way down and he'll need the extra warmth as the temperatures get cooler.  After that, I will try to get back to the last piece(s) of this very slowly sewn SWAP.

I think I am chickening out again on my last idea for the green wool challis, so I went pattern stash diving and came up yet another idea, Vogue 9428.  I can make either the dress or the two pieces (top and skirt) to get a bit more mileage out wear.  I wouldn't line the sleeves.  Would skip the pockets as the challis is too fragile.  Still mulling though and have BH's jacket to keep me busy while I do so.

I gave up on the idea of getting a better photo.  These with the dirty mirror will have to do for now.  First photo is of the "front" of the vest over the Style Arc Alexi turtleneck and the OOP V9610 trousers.   Second photo is of the "back" of the vest over the Frankenpatterned dress based on SA Alexi body and the neckline of another OOP Vogue dress pattern of which I cannot remember the number.

OOP V8820 vest

V8820 vest

PS.  That streak down the front pants leg and the sprinkles on the vest over the dress are all evidence of my lousy housekeeping.

Nice use of the remaining wool crepe, CCL. The vest (front and back) looks impeccably made, which is your hallmark. Congratulations. It's always a pleasure to see your sewn garments.

And never mind the mirror--you've got a pretty full plate right now, and housekeeping can and should wait its turn! :D

Thanks, Lisanne - that was timely encouragement!    And thank you, Bev!  That's some print rayon jersey I bought from Sawyer Brook several years ago.  When it arrived, I thought whatever was I thinking? (which is sort of a refrain!), so it's been lingering around.  Since it's turned cooler, I have been wearing lots of these pieces fairly frequently - almost every day this week in fact.

So I am needing to put together a little group shot of what I have so far... I have 11 garments made (plus the black skirt previously sewn) but I am really needing to make up the teal challis to get some pop color (plus I did want to sew down the older things in stash).  Anyway, here's where I am.  I am going to try yet another two piece dress idea in a cheap challis to see if that pattern will work.

All in all, though, even if I stop here, I have met the rules and I pretty much love every piece in this collection.  So thank you mudcat for such excellent rules.

The full SWAP album is here 2018 Whatever was I thinking? and includes the muslins and other stuff ad nauseum for anyone interested.

I am going to take a page from Ruthie and keep sewing for this collection until I get the challis done.

Edited for afterthoughts and links.

Thank you, AnnetteB, DragonLady and Wendy...  I really do seem to be making a habit of dragging the SWAP season out to last at least a year!

How lovely everything looks. I am so impressed that you continued past the deadlines sewing impeccably and producing such a beautifully fitting and equisitely made collection. I hope you are hugely pleased with yourself?

Ohhh, thank you Ruthie, Lisa and Mudcat.

Mudcat, I do believe I need to finish up the teal dress/top/skirt whatever for this SWAP before I contemplate any more planning.  I fell pretty hard off the stash busting wagon last month with multiple purchases from various online sources - so there may be a lot of disjointed orphan sewing in my future.

Wow, CCL, what a collection! Beautiful. Interesting. Perfect fit.

I especially liked seeing the waistcoat. I like that look. I have been thinking about sewing one for years now, even drafted one a long time ago (it surely does not fit any longer), but it never got over the planning stage. Maybe this year ?
