Since it appears to cost about $90 a month to host this site, it doesn't look as though we have enough money to get through more than about 3 more months, with what you had left over and the donations that have come in.  Is that right, DL?

Site hosting is $65.00 per month.  Once in a while we have other expenses like extra tech support for things going waaay wrong and fees like domain registration.  But we do have enough enough right now to last for three months, if there's no emergencies.  I don't recall when the domain is due, but they'll send me an email when it is.

Didn't we do a "yard sale" awhile back, with proceeds going to SG?

We did.  We had the auction software up and running then.  But since then, someone tried to hack it, and I haven't been too keen on putting it back up.  It's a lot of work, and I haven't had the time, the energy or any enthusiasm for the job.  Also, it would have to be secured to prevent further hacking attempts, and (while not difficult to do) I just haven't seen it as being a project worth worrying about.

DL,

I will get a check in the mail ASAP.  A little Christmas gift is in order.  Considering the enjoyment and help offered here, it is due.

I didn't realize the auction thing was such a pain!  I guess a contribution is the way to go.  THanks again for all(and the mods.) hard work to keep this place fun and safe.

Perhaps we should get in line for a government bailout.   :rotfl:

I just sent $ via Paypal.

Is there a way to call more attention to this thread, maybe? It's really easy to miss this VERY IMPORTANT message!

PayPal with a Mastercard is just fine.  I receive the money the same, either way. :)

Thanks again to all of you.  :)

Before I send money via PayPal, I would appreciate confirming the ID I should use.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I'm going to wait a while, 'till the money stops pouring into PayPal, then give a full accounting.  I keep losing track of what I posted and what I haven't.  I've gotten a couple of checks already, and I know more are on the way, so I'll let everyone know what's what when I have it all sorted out.   :)

Again, thanks to everyone for the generous support.   8)

Thanks, again, to everyone for your marvelous support. :)

I'm going to ask that everyone stop now. :)  I think we have enough money.  I haven't totalled it all up yet, but will try to get that done this coming week, so I can let everyone know what we've got "in the bank".  I'm reasonably sure we have enough to see us through for quite a while.

Thanks again!

Too late DL I mailed my check today but don't send it back as I need to contribute. If I had to pay for the enjoyment I get I probably couldn't afford it.

I know...long time, no update. :(

I had this all ready to go over a month ago, but then my DH helpfully cleaned my desk. He rearranged all my stacks of papers, mixed the SG donations in with bills, junk mail and letters from my relatives, and generally made a real mess of my personal workspace.  He really was trying to help, as he knew I was getting stressed and honestly thought the clutter was just making it worse.  Anyway, by the time I had everything back in hand, it was time to figure our taxes, so I waited for that to be done just to help avoid any mistakes.  This is one of the few days I've had the house to myself and nothing pressing to do, so I've finally gotten it all figured out again. :)

So, for those of you who wrote me checks: they're still here.  I've found all the ones I haven't cashed yet, and will deposit them when I go into town on Thursday.

Previous Balance, Dec 2008:      $    90.43
Donations; PayPal                    923.26
PayPal Fees              -   35.49
Donations; Checks/Cash          495.00
Hosting Jan - March    -  195.00
Domain Renewal         -  10.19

Grand Total: $1,268. 01

I'm still just overwhelmed and amazed at the generosity all of you show. :)  I know everyone is short of cash in these tough times, so it makes it twice as special to me that you trust me with your money, and that you like SG well enough to help keep it up and running.  Thanks, again, to each and every one of you. :)
